Collective Worship

We place Christ at the centre of all we do and therefore we feel that Collective Worship is one way in developing a way for children to develop a relationship with Jesus and come to know him better

Whole School Collective Worship – Mondays
Members of the adult chaplaincy team: Ms Donnelly, Mrs Szuma, Ms Onn, Mrs Storch, lead the whole school in Collective Worship every week. These liturgies are based around our weekly statement to live by and the relevant Gospel readings. They are planned to help the children to reflect on specific actions we can take to be closer to God, finding ways to live our lives by sharing His Love, Kindness, Forgiveness and Charity. This Monday liturgy also gives opportunities for explore themes / reflections important to the school and its community.

Prayer and PraiseTuesdays
Hymns, prayers and spiritual song

Class WorshipWednesdays
The children take ownership of their learning and develop their own relationship with God. In Foundation and KS1, Teachers guide children to plan and lead prayer and liturgies. KS2, children plan and deliver their own Liturgies. This time allows children to be reflective and think of their own needs and the needs of others.

Whole School Collective Worship – Thursdays
The Chaplaincy team plan and deliver the weekly liturgy supported by school Chaplain. This time allows children to be reflective and think of their own needs and the needs of others. The theme is closely linked with the liturgical year and the Gospel so that all members of the school community have an understanding of the readings, colours and messages we listen to and see on Sunday at mass.

Parent Liturgies
Parent’s Liturgies will be taking place throughout the Year both in School and Church. Please check Newsletters for details.

Children's Prayer Groups
Throughout the Year of The Church, children are invited to pray in school with both staff and parishioners. In May and October we pray The Rosary as well as Lenten and Advent Prayers. We have a Rosary club in which a special time is dedicated to The Rosary.

Traveling cross and Traveling Crib
Prayer boxes/bags are sent home during Advent and Lent in preparation for the wonderful celebrations of Christmas and Easter. The children are able to share special, prayerful and reflective times with their families at home.
